Finding a data job has taken a little longer than I anticipated, so to keep my skills fresh and to do something concrete regarding our abysmal political climate, I've decided to volunteer my data skills for a political campaign.
I've put the word out that I'm looking to volunteer for a progressive, democratic political campaign as a data analyst/consultant and I've gotten some good responses. Now I begin figuring out which campaign(s) I'll contribute to and what my contributions will look like. Ideally, I'd like to help where I'm needed most, especially in congressional swing districts, but we'll see what happens. I'm really excited, I've never worked on a political campaign before and this seems like a great outlet for my feelings of political helplessness. Helping engage more people in our political process is key and I hope I can help make a difference!
